
Calibration of light meters
For measurements regarding light and optics we have built a darkened tunnel in our laboratory in which we calibrate photometric processes.
Our optical laboratory consists of a optical bench, which is divided into different parts. On those, different screens and additions can be added and placed in different distances to the norm light.
Illuminance measuring instruments are calibrated under the common temperature of 2856 K.
After every recalibration we calculate the measurement value and mark the results on our optical bench.
During the calibration, the measurement device is covered by screens, which shield the photo sensor from any radiations except those from the light source itself.
This enables us to adjust and calibrate lux meters.
The measurement values of the calibration of colorimeters are usually offered in the units L*, a* and b* but can be converted by as into other units if required.
